There are certain outfits that you put on and it just feels right.
This is one of those outfits. I feel perfectly like me in this look. Floppy hat? Check. Crazy shoes? Check. Hi-low skirt? You betcha! Yup, this is so me. Haha, what do you think?

So the weather here had a change of heart, and yesterday was blustery and freezing! You couldn't tell now though, since the sun came out, almost as if in apology. We had to re-schedule that drive-in movie for tonight instead, since it would've been miserable if we'd tried last night.
Looking forward to seeing Men In Black III! Haha, any of you see it already?

I recently bought this gold plated necklace and I am seriously loving the statement it makes! Every time I wear it, it's as if I'm adding an Egyptian vibe to my outfit.

By the way, this is just a little observation I've made, but ever feel self-conscious when you're reading another fashion blogger's post, and they're going on and on about how yucky their hair/skin/nails/etc. are? Seriously, you're sitting there looking at their photos and think they look just fine, but then to have these minute imperfections pointed out, it's like 'Wow, how do others see me!?'
Maybe it's just me, but I feel like that sometimes. Seriously, I hear others go on about bad hair days and I think..."Well, I don't want to hear what you think about mine!"
Haha life's too short to try and have a perfect everything. Besides, it's inner beauty that truly matters. A girl's only as pretty as what's inside her.

Anyway, with all this sudden time on my hands, I've taken to my nerdy habit and checked out a lot of books from our library. I'm that girl that the librarians know by name and treat like a granddaughter. Haha, it's pretty great! I always get that reputation as a bookworm sooner or later, no matter where we go. I've always got my nose in a book. And if it's a good one? Oh man, you can't separate me from it.
Right now, I've stumbled across a piece of gold called Between Shades of Gray. It's a historical fiction novel about a girl and her family that are deported by the Soviet police to Siberia and struggle to survive in the prison camps. It's intense!

While I've been enjoying my downtime, the itch to get out and travel or do something is starting. It's been a rough year financially though, so we're trying to limit any trips (these gas prices are insane!) Hopefully we can scrounge up enough to go somewhere this summer though. Otherwise it could be a long and boring one.

I've even been making roadtrip outfits just in case! Haha, do you ever do that? Prepare outfits in advance for any occasion? I mean, I've thought about what I'd take if mom and I went back to visit the Philippines. Man, that'd be so fun. I miss visiting there! The environment is so jarring and different from the US, which I enjoyed experiencing. Those moments were precious to me. And below is my lovely photographer for the day, mom! Isn't she just a cutie? You know, when she was younger and in college, many of the students getting a degree in cosmetology always wanted to use her as a model because of her bone structure! I think that's so cool. :)
