Wow, okay, so summer freedom is just now hitting me. I've got so much free time on my hands and I don't know what to do with it! Of course, I've been pounding the streets trying to find a job, but while I'm waiting for something to work out, I'm not sure what to do.

However, I haven't told you about the barbecue party I went to over the weekend yet. Haha, I mentioned in my last post that I had met a college guy named Patrick through my good friend Saffron and he'd invited me to a barbecue at his place. Anyway, I went, and it was a blast!

It was an adventure getting there though. I hitched a ride with Saff, and since neither of us had been there it took us a while to locate the right road. Anyway, we saw a bunch of cars parked outside a house and guessed it was the place.

See, we accidentally crashed another party...haha, but hey, they let us in! We knocked, a guy answered, and he welcomed us in. As we wandered around the house trying to find a familiar face, we quickly realized our mistake. So as smoothly as possible, we made our escape claiming we couldn't get cell reception and were going to see if it was better outside.

We giggled all the way down the street where we managed to locate the right house. Haha, Patrick was in the garage setting stuff up and showed us around. I gotta say, he's a perfect host. He started conversations easily and made a genuine connection before flitting off to another group and chatting with them.

We played ping-pong, ladderball, horseshoes, and of course, ate the traditional American meal: hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, potato salad, and soda. Mmmm, so good! As it got darker, we built a fire and everyone gathered around to make s'mores.

Then people broke out musical instruments (there was a guitar, ukelele, and violin!) and we sang campfire songs and hymns. Haha, it was great. In case you're wondering, these kids are all music majors. ;)

Around midnight we had to leave, but Patrick walked us out to the car and mentioned how they were planning another get-together to go see a drive-in movie and invited us to that as well. I'm looking forward to that! I've never been to a drive-in and with a group of friends it will be fun.

Haha, I'm on my smart phone far too much since I've gotten it. I've only had it for 4 months and I'm still not over it! Anyway, that would be Patrick texting me to see if I'd gotten any sleep after the barbecue. I hadn't gotten home until about 1!

Ah, so notice the pink strip of hair? They're actually hair extensions that I bought last Friday to test drive what I've been wanting to do for a really long time. Now that I've seen what it looks like, I'm going to go all out and actually dye it! I've gotten a lot of compliments on the look and I like changing things up.

Hehe, Kirsten and I went to the park yesterday and goofed around. She saw this leaf and jumped up to see if she could snag it. Once that happened, the challenge began. I swear we ran back and forth, jumping and leaping as high as we could until I finally nabbed the tip of the leaf and tore a chunk off. Mission accomplished!
