A Walk to Remember

I love this dress. Period. 

Its bright, orange, and has little birds marching across in stripe formation. What more could a girl want!?

It even comes with the cute brown belt, which gave me the idea to stick with brown accessories and shoes. The warm hues in this dress are so pretty, they make me think about taking a vacation in Baja California or somewhere that's warm and offers tropical drinks on white sandy beaches. ;) Because this is so what I'd wear!

The sad thing with having a job though is that you have that responsibility first and foremost. No random trips to anywhere without having to consult your work schedule first. And sadly, I have a really wacky one since I only find out when I work every Sunday when they print the new schedule. Since I'm still pretty new I get some off the wall hours. For example, Tuesday might have me working from 10:30 AM-2:00 PM, then Thursday I'll be working from 11:30 AM -8:00 PM. I just wish I had a set schedule...that'd be nice. Ah well, I'm not going to complain about having a job! I do enjoy it and it's not hard work at all.

In other news, I've talked with my mom somewhat about my developing relationship with Patrick. Guess who came over and met my parents yesterday? Yup, he did! And he left a pretty good impression in case you're wondering. Would you expect any less?
Haha, but anyway, it's nice being able to talk about it with my mom. She's not only my mom, but one of my best friends, so it can be a relief sometimes to be able to come to her and just talk and ask for advise. 

However, lately she's constantly been bringing up my past relationship and her fears from that. It's driving me crazy! Mainly because I keep thinking how long ago that was, and also because it embarrasses me to remember how stupid I was over this guy. Aha, sounds bad, but it was one long, strenuous relationship...and my mom hasn't forgotten it.

 However, I don't regret it, because I matured from it and learned what I really want in a guy.  Before, I didn't want to step on my ex's toes and wouldn't let him know that his constant texts and calls were annoying me. I tried excusing it as a show of his love for me. Slowly, the aggravation built, until it tempered the affection I felt for him. It was my first taste of young love, and it turned sour after far too long of trying to ignore the bitterness. After I broke up with him, I started to focus on the simple moments of happiness that are present in life. Instead of pining for someone to be my own, I realized I was happier on my own! So now I feel stronger than ever, because I know that I'm okay with just being single, and I don't need a guy to feel satisfied or happy.With my family and friends, I'm never truly alone anyway.

So whatever happens this summer, I can at least find confidence in this. Patrick might bring me some unexpected happiness, but I know that even without him, I would be just fine. :)
